Happy St. Patty's Day

In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, here's some stuff you (probably) didn't know about Ireland and Irish things. Slainte mhath! (that's "Good health" - a Gaelic toast.)
St. Patrick wasn't Irish. He was a Brit kidnapped by Irish pirates.
There are more people of Irish descent in Boston and surrounding New England than in Ireland.
Ireland has a retirement home for aging donkeys.
Ireland has the smallest variety of animals dangerous to man.
Most dangerous animal in Ireland: the bumblebee.
Longest stalactite on earth: 20 feet 4 inches, at Pollan Ionana cave in Ireland.
On average, people in Ireland drink the most...milk. They also eat the most corn flakes. (Makes sense.)
"When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" was written by George Graff, a German who never went to Ireland.
"A man loves his sweetheart the most, his wife the best, but his mother the longest." -Irish proverb
Ireland's Dolphin and Wildlife Foundation has installed underwater microphones so cell phone users can call and listen to dolphins.
When the Irish say "Top of the mornin' to you," answer "and the rest of the day to you."
