Sand Faces

Though sand sculptures are inherently fleeting works of art, an astonishing amount of labor is poured into each project—often requiring teams of architectures or sculptors and nearly 3000 tons of sand per competition. Amongst the most spectacular castles, animals or otherwise themed creations, there exist true masterpieces that appear to come to life on the shore. Showcasing everything from agony to exhilaration, these are the 10 sand-crafted expressions that masterfully exemplify real human emotions.

Eye-Pleasing Art

Antonio Capel Photorealistic Paintings (8 photos)
Some of the paintings of this Spanish artist Antonio Capel look so photorealistic that even a trained eye will need some time to realise that these are not photos! Amazing!

Milk- It Does A Bottle Good

Residents of Stourbridge, West Midlands (UK) and surrounding villages were having a pleasant surprise when they took their milk bottles. They would find pictures of animals, often cows or mice, carefully carved onto the glass in astonishing detail. The artist, called by neighbors as 'bottle Banksy', would take the used milk bottles from doorsteps and then return them after having etched elaborate pictures. The identity of this artist was later known: Charlotte Hughes-Martin. The ex-lecturer, who works from a studio in a former glass factory, decorated the used bottles before randomly returning them to the doorsteps. Meet Charlotte's Milk Bottle Art.

Clever Corn Flakes Advertising

Up until this afternoon, I was totally unaware that the cereal eating habits of society change during the colder parts of the year. It makes perfect sense though; apparently, cold cereal sales drop off during the winter months as people switch to hot breakfasts like oatmeal and farina.
In an attempt to keep customers eating their daily bowl of cold corn flakes during the autumn months leading up to winter, ad agency JWT London has created this “ambient” campaign for Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut CornFlakes. They enlisted the pavement artist Jon Hicks to draw large Kellogg’s bowls around London sidewalks, and sweep the autumn leaves into them to emulate the cornflakes. Clever stuff. Check out some pictures of Jon Hicks at work.

Art From Cans

UK student Jack Kirby took three years and 5,000 empty cans of Budweiser to create a life-size model of a 1965 Ford mustang. Recycling used cans into art seems to be a popular past time as these images of a giant etch-a-sketch and a toaster (with buttered toast) go to show. via trendhunter

Literally Seeing Red

A Scottish farmer has painted his flock of sheep red to "brighten things up" for drivers.
The sheep have been released on a hillside beside the M8 between junctions three and four and is the brainchild of Pyramid Business Park.
The stunt in Bathgate was set up "for a bit of fun" to "brighten things up".
Farmer Andrew Jack, who owns the 54-strong flock, spent hours spray painting the woolly mammals. They will be red for a month until sheared.
