Man sacked for not being able to pronounce 'Teletubbies'
A toy seller seller was sacked because his lisp meant he could not say the Teletubbies properly. Bosses heard Rabbie Kadhim, 26, saying “Dipshy” and “Teletubbiesh” to customers at a trade fair. They then axed Rabbie from his job demonstrating the £24.99 glowing figures of of children’s favourites Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, La-La and Po.
Rabbie said: “All Teletubbies ever say is: ‘eh-oh’. But I’m the one who is sacked for having a speech impediment. All my job involved was showing children that if you squeezed a Tele-tubbies’ tummy it would glow. My supervisor claimed I was being let go because I couldn’t pronounce Dipsy properly.”
